USC Bovard Scholars invite all High-Achieving high school Juniors with financial need

The USC Bovard Scholars team has already begun reading applications from high school students from all across the country who want support in applying to and succeeding at top-tier colleges and universities in the U.S.!  Join us on the USC campus for three weeks this summer. I couldn’t be more excited about what’s to come for the fourth year of our program.

Applications are due January 17, 2020 at 5:00pm PST.

We invite all high-achieving high school juniors with financial need to apply.

This year, the program runs from July 12, 2020, through August 1, 2020. And remember, we offer the program at no cost to students or families. USC will pay for airfare to and from campus for students coming from outside of Southern California.

5th Annual Herrman & Herrman Scholarship

The 5th annual Herrman & Herrman scholarship is now open to Texas students! This year, students are to enter the contest with an array of options – an essay, song, poem, or infographic. Alongside this, they are to nominate a teacher who inspired their creativity. The winning Texas applicant will receive a $2,500 scholarship, and their teacher will receive $1,000 as well. Three Texas winners will be selected, totaling $5,000 in scholarships!

Below, you will find information on the 2019 HSF summer programs available to exceptional high school juniors (class of 2020), as well as the HSF scholarship available to high school seniors and current college students.

STUDENT PROGRAMS

Young Leaders Summit (YLS)
Applications now open to high school juniors from all backgrounds!

The Young Leaders Summit, presented by the Youth Leadership Consortium (YLC), is a free, four-day, overnight, college empowerment conference at the University of Chicago for a diverse cohort of 200 low-income high school juniors from all ethnic backgrounds, selected through a competitive application process. It is designed to give these young leaders the practical tools they need to successfully apply to top universities, have full access to scholarship and financial aid opportunities, and set a course for academic and career success.

The Youth Leadership Consortium is a partnership, led by HSF, of organizations brought together by the mission to provide students and families of all backgrounds and ethnicities with the knowledge and resources to successfully complete a higher education.

The deadline to refer students for YLS is Thursday, February 28, 2019. The deadline for students to apply is Friday, March 8, 2019 at 1:00pm PST.

HSF’s Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) Applications now open to Latino high school juniors!

Please note that the YLI and YLS (above) are different programs. Some students might be eligible to apply to both programs, but can only attend one.

The Youth Leadership Institute is a free, four-day, overnight, college empowerment conference for Latino high school juniors held at two top universities across the US. This highly selective program is designed to give young Latino leaders the practical tools they need to successfully apply to top universities, have full access to scholarship and financial aid opportunities, and set a course for academic and career success.

The deadline to refer students for YLI is Thursday, January 17, 2019.

The HSF Scholarship Application Opens January 1, 2019!

The HSF Scholarship is designed to aid students of Hispanic heritage in their pursuit of a college degree. Scholarships are available to high school seniors, undergraduate students (all years), graduate students, and community college students transferring to four-year universities. Awards are merit-based, and final amounts range from $500 to $5,000, based on demonstrated financial need.

Phase 1 of the application, which is a short questionnaire, opens on January 1, 2019 and closes on February 5. After review of all Phase 1 submissions, the top qualified applicants will be invited to complete the application Phase 2.

¡La solicitud de beca HSF se abre el 1 de enero de 2019!

La Beca HSF está diseñada para ayudar a los estudiantes de herencia hispana en su búsqueda de un título universitario. Las becas están disponibles para estudiantes del último año de secundaria, estudiantes universitarios (todos los años), estudiantes graduados y estudiantes de colegios comunitarios que se transfieren a universidades de cuatro años.
