Big thanks to the hospitality team for all their work at parent-teacher conferences. As an afternoon pick-me-up, Melissa Shields organized Sonic happy hour drinks, which were enjoyed by 38 teachers and staff. Then for dinner, Erika Wijaya Tan and Melissa Shields arranged an amazing meal of fried chicken, spinach salad, mac and cheese, and potato salad. They bring hard work, organization and fun to all hospitality events and the PTSA appreciated them so much. The PTSA would like to thank new PTSA members Abby Goldstein, Mark Rodriguez, Megan Benanti, and Mielle Walther for volunteering at the conference night. The PTSA couldn’t have run the spirit wear, membership tables, and dinner clean up without your assistance! THANK YOU!!!

Please join us for the last Morning Mixer of 2018-19. We will celebrate a successful year with some words from current senior parents. Ask questions of parents who have just been through the college application process! We will also be welcoming parents of incoming freshmen.

It’s almost the winter holiday break, so let’s show our teachers how much we appreciate them with a self-serve cookie buffet on Thursday, December 13, 2018. We are asking for your very best baking skills to make a dozen cookies for our teachers to pick and choose from so they can create their own holiday gift box of cookies!

We appreciate all donations…your best homemade recipe is ideal, but store-bought is also a great option! No baking skills? No time? No problem! You can also make a modest donation as well!

Please send a dozen cookies, either with your student to school, or come in and say hello to us as we set up in Room 211 from 8 AM-10 AM on Thursday, December 13, 2018 (the last regular school day before ACPs). Please bring cookies in a disposable container. We have display trays at school.

When you sign up below, please specify what type of cookie you’re bringing–such as chocolate chip, gingerbread, sugar, blossom, cream filled, oatmeal raisin, fig newton, brownies, cake balls, etc! Let’s try to make sure we give teachers a good variety!

Food allergies: Several teachers are allergic to nuts and cinnamon. Please note if you have these in your recipes. Thank you!

Ya casi son las vacaciones de invierno, así que demostrémosles a nuestros maestros cuánto los apreciamos con un buffet de galletas de autoservicio el jueves 13 de diciembre de 2018. Estamos solicitando sus mejores habilidades para hornear y hacer una docena de galletas para que nuestros maestros puedan escoger, elegir y crear su propia caja de galletas de regalo para las fiestas navideñas!

Apreciamos todas las donaciones … su mejor receta casera es ideal, ¡pero comprar en la tienda también es una excelente opción! No hay habilidades para hornear? ¿No hay tiempo? ¡No hay problema! ¡También puedes hacer una modesta donación!Por favor Envie una docena de galletas, ya sea con su estudiante a la escuela, o venga a saludarnos mientras nos preparamos en la Sala 211 de 8:00 a 10:00 a.m. el jueves 13 de diciembre de 2018 (el último día escolar regular antes de los ACP) . Por favor traiga las galletas en un recipiente desechable. Tenemos bandejas de exhibición en la escuela.

Cuando se registre a continuación, especifique qué tipo de galleta está trayendo, como por ejemplo, chispas de chocolate, pan de jengibre, azúcar, flores, rellenos de crema, pasas de avena, higo, bizcochos, pastelillos, etc. ¡Tratemos de asegurarnos de darles una buena variedad a los maestros!

We had a great time at the Morning Mixer. Mr. Palacios was there and shared updates about all the great things going on at SEM. Coffee and donuts and socializing – join us next month!

The PTSA sent our teachers off for Thanksgiving Break with a Thank You!!! Lunch. It was great to see everyone sit down and visit with each other! Teachers  who signed up were given a pie to take home. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

 

 

 

The Halloween Candy Sale was a great success! Thanks to all who donated their time, candy, and all the students who came to the sale!
